On September 20, our CEO, Francisco Pérez Medina, participated in the Third National Housing Congress in Valencia, organized by APCEspaña.
The main objective of this new national edition was to identify the challenges facing today’s society in order to fulfill the constitutional right to housing, as well as the obstacles currently preventing younger generations from accessing decent housing. In addition, the event addressed issues that will arise in the coming months as a result of the “European Recovery Funds” and the new legislation planned that will affect the housing sector.
Our CEO’s participation provided an opportunity for him to share his views on various issues, such as:
- The shortage of land and how developers are addressing it in order to move various urban development projects forward.
- The bureaucratic hurdles and the consequences of delays in obtaining permits that we encountered during a housing project
- The need to continue public-private partnerships in order to provide all generations of young people with access to affordable and decent housing and to address the existing housing shortage.
- The current state of digitization in the sectorand the various types of funding.
In addition, Francisco Pérez also wanted to mention the contingency plans the company is developing to stay ahead of the market : “We are evaluating each promotion and will continue with the projects that are profitable.”
This conference, which was postponed last February because it could not be held due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the city of Valencia and which is being held for the first time outside the Spanish capital, exceeded all expectations with more than 400 guests, who enjoyed the discussion featuring experts, urban planners, architects, representatives from Spain’s real estate sector, and public officials.
