The Christmas Lottery isn’t just a drawing—it’s a tradition deeply rooted in Spanish culture. Since its inception on March 4, 1812 (the first drawing in history), this event has forged emotional bonds across generations. The arrival of December 22 not only marks the official start of the Christmas celebrations but also sparks a wave of excitement throughout Spain with the long-awaited drawing. So, in this article , we’ll explore how to experience that magical day, discover tips for attracting good luck, and examine whether actively following the drawing is the key to winning.

Planning Your Day: How Can You Make the Most of the Excitement?

The magic of the Christmas Lottery is best experienced when you plan that day carefully. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy all the excitement:

Organize a family gathering

Invite family and friends to spend the day with you. Create a festive atmosphere by decorating the space with Christmas decorations, prepare some snacks, and enjoy the time leading up to and following the drawing with your closest loved ones.

Choose numbers that have meaning

Instead of choosing numbers at random, pick ones that have special meaning for you or your family. These can be important dates, personal lucky numbers, or any numbers that hold sentimental value.

Have a personal ritual

Just as if you were a soccer player about to step onto the field, establish a ritual that makes the draw unique to you. In this case, just as players might touch the grass or step onto the field with their right foot first, you can light a special candle, share a toast, or even wear a specific outfit that makes you feel lucky.

Follow the live drawing

This is essential for enjoying the excitement in real time. On TV, on the radio, online… wherever you are, you can even join community events where people get together to share the experience.

Create a special playlist

To add a personal touch to this long-awaited day, create a festive music playlist to accompany the wait for the drawing. Include songs that inspire positivity and good luck.

Share this excitement on social media

Encourage your friends and social media followers to join in the excitement by sharing photos, stories, and messages related to the Christmas Lottery. This online interaction adds another layer of connection to the experience.

Tips for Attracting Good Luck. Is There a Magic Formula?

Although luck is elusive and there are no guarantees, many believe in certain tricks to attract it. Everyone has their own method for trying to win the top prize (four million euros for a full set and four hundred thousand for a single ticket).

Here are some popular tips to help you increase your chances of winning on the day of the Christmas lottery drawing.

Wearing Red

Just as people are advised to wear something red to ring in the new year, the same recommendation applies for the day of the drawing . This color is commonly associated with good luck in Spanish culture. By choosing to wear this color, you’re not only following tradition, but you may also feel that you’re attracting positive energy for the drawing.

Carry an amulet or talisman

Many people believe in the protection and good luck that certain amulets can provide. On the day of the drawing, you can carry a small object with you—such as a figurine or a special piece of jewelry—that symbolizes prosperity and good fortune or that is simply of special importance to you.

Light a lucky candle

Lighting a special candle during the drawing can be a symbolic ritual. Choose a gold or yellow candle—colors associated with prosperity—and focus on your wishes while enjoying the light it provides.

Putting bills in your shoes

A peculiar but popular custom is to place a bill in your shoes—or in each shoe. It is believed that this will bring prosperity and good luck. In addition, stepping on these bills on the day of the drawing is seen as a symbol of good fortune.

Perform acts of kindness

Before the drawing, do a good deed, such as donating to a charity. Some people believe that generating positive energy through altruistic actions can bring good luck and help you feel more connected to the Christmas spirit.

Remember, the lottery is a game of chance, and these tips will help you enjoy the process and maintain a positive mindset.
