June 11, 2025— Culmia, the real estate platform that brings together all housing solutions on the market, has presented its First Architecture Awards: CulmiARQ. The winning project of this first edition was “Infinito Adaptable” by architects José Durán Fernández and Daniel Moreno Ruiz. The proposal was recognized for its innovative approach to housing typologies and living spaces capable of responding to new ways of living and working.

Based on the thoughtful implementation of a structural system and the layout of facilities and services, the proposal—which incorporates a mix of programs and facilitates flexible uses throughout the building— addresses the future challenges of collective housing with an innovative approach. Although this is a theoretical exercise, it stands out for its adaptability to different sites, programs, and materials.

In line with its commitment to architecture, innovation, and sustainability, Culmia is launching these awards to promote creativity and design in the residential architecture sector. It seeks to recognize architectural initiatives that align with new trends in home design, as outlined in its report“Macrotrends in Housing 2023–2030,” produced in collaboration with the consulting firm A Piece of Pie, and that also address new housing demands.

The jury, chaired by Francisco Pérez, CEO of Culmia, is composed of renowned figures from the real estate, architecture, and sustainability sectors. The committee includes experts such as César Frías, founder of Morph Estudio; Fermín Vázquez, founding partner of b720; Enric Batlle, founding partner of Batlleiroig; Camila Aybar, founding partner of Aybar-Mateos Arquitectos; José Toral, founding partner of Peris+Toral Arquitectes; Sonia Hernández, founder of Arquitectura Sana; and Anna Llonch, co-founder of Cierto Estudio.

During the ceremony, the “Koinonía” and “Pulmón Comunitario” projects were honored with honorable mentions. Regarding the former, the jury highlighted the work carried out at both the urban and typological scales, and regarding the latter, it praised the project’s ability to address relevant aspects in detail, such as mixed-use development, spatial flexibility, and the relationship between the individual and the collective.

The work of the other finalist projects—“Colismo,” “Diacronía,” and “Hashtag”—was also highlighted, as they demonstrated a high level of quality, creativity, and thoughtfulness.

In the words of Francisco Pérez, CEO of Culmia: “Through these awards,we recognize the talent and vision of those who are imagining the homes of tomorrow. The projects submitted have demonstrated a high level of innovation and commitment to addressing the challenges posed by new ways of living. I would like to offer my most sincere congratulations to all the participants, because their proposals have helped enrich the architectural debate and drive solutions that look toward a more sustainable, flexible, and inclusive future.”

At the gala, the winning project, “Infinito Adaptable,” received a cash prize of 10,000 euros, while each of the finalist projects was awarded 2,000 euros.
