The Awards for Excellence in Safety and Health, organized by CULMIA, aim to recognize excellence in the field of safety and health, promote safe practices, and encourage the integration of occupational risk prevention at CULMIA’s construction sites.

The Occupational Risk Prevention Unit, with the support of the Operations Department, has launched this awards program in 2021 to recognize efforts to promote health and safety within the company.

For this reason, CULMIA’s Occupational Risk Prevention Unit will evaluate, throughout this year, the commitment, work, and awareness regarding health and safety on CULMIA’s construction sites among:

• CULMIA Marketing Managers.
• Construction crews from the contractors carrying out CULMIA projects.
• Health and Safety Coordinators appointed by CULMIA at its construction sites.

In addition, leadership, commitment, work, and effort in the area of Health and Safety will be evaluated in each of the above categories in order to promote safe behavior and encourage the integration of Occupational Risk Prevention into CULMIA’s construction projects.

How does the participation process work?

To be eligible to participate in the Awards for Excellence in Health and Safety initiative, you must either be managing a construction project for a CULMIA development (Construction Team) or have been appointed as the Health and Safety Coordinator during the construction phase for one of CULMIA’s ongoing projects. On behalf of CULMIA’s Development Management teams, the entire team of Development Managers from the Central-North, Catalonia, East, and South Regional Offices will participate.

All CULMIA projects in the implementation phase from January 2021 through October 2021, inclusive, will be considered eligible for the 2021 Awards for Excellence in Health and Safety. CULMIA projects initiated on or after November 2021 will be included in the 2022 cycle of these awards.

How will you know if you’ve won the prizes?

The winners of the Awards will be announced during the first half of December 2021. Winners will be selected based on the scores obtained through CULMIA’s Health and Safety Audit system, and the decision will be made by consensus between CULMIA’s Operations Department and its Occupational Risk Prevention Unit. The winners will receive a gift, which will be presented before the end of fiscal year 2021.
