En Culmia lo tenemos muy claro, hay miles de variedades en cuanto a estilos de decoración de interiores se refiere. Cada persona tiene su personalidad y esto se refleja en la decoración de su vivienda, independientemente de si es tendencia o no.
Below, we’ll show you 6 interior design styles so you can find the one that best suits your preferences and tastes.
Minimalist Decor
This decorating style began in 1920 and, for several years now, has been considered one of the most innovative styles.
A minimalist decorating style means thinking ahead and keeping only what is functional. Less is more.
To achieve this, strip all your ideas down to the basics, choose different textures for your decor, leave space between objects, keep your entire home tidy, use neutral colors, and go for a monochromatic look… In short, to achieve a minimalist style in your home, you can’t have excessive or extravagant decor.

Nordic-style decor
This type of interior design emerged in the 1950s in the Scandinavian countries. It is currently one of the leading interior design styles and has been greatly influenced by the climatic conditions in those countries; moreover, it fits perfectly with the architectural styles of the homes there.
The main goal of the Nordic decor style is to create cozy, warm, and comfortable spaces. This is achieved by painting everything white, removing all unused furniture, emphasizing light, using light-colored natural materials for the furniture, and keeping spaces tidy, clean, and functional.

Industrial-style decor
A decorating style more typical of the classic New York lofts we see in movies, but one that emerged in the mid-20th century and is gaining more and more followers.
This style is characterized by open-concept layouts, very high ceilings, and large windows. To achieve this type of decor, decorative materials such as concrete, iron, leather, and vintage furnitureare often used… and one key element is that structural elements like beams, brick walls, or metal pipes and ducts are left exposed.

Mediterranean-style decor
The Mediterranean region is renowned for its great beauty and distinctive style, which is influenced by its climate and way of life. One of its most notable features is the all-white—or nearly all-white—aesthetic.
Facades are generally white and are then decorated using fresh colors such as navy blue, chosen to complement one another. This type of decoration isn’t limited to homes with ocean views, but it does play an important role.
The decor can be classic and free of aesthetic excesses. Nothing is superfluous, yet nothing is missing either, and this translates into a sense of tranquility and the necessary comfort. Many natural materials, such as wood, are used. Linen and cotton textiles, natural fibers in the furniture, and an emphasis on small details are very characteristic of this style of home.

Wabi-sabi-style decor
What is Wabi Sabi? It is a Japanese aesthetic term that describes the beauty of imperfection.
If you have antique furniture or pieces, don’t worry—you’ll add authenticity by restoring and repurposing them, and you’ll also make your home more sustainable.
This decorating style is characterized by peeling paint, uneven plaster walls, muted colors, handcrafted pieces with their imperfections, and low light… The main goal is to add touches of beauty through furniture that exudes simplicity and personality. It seeks beauty in the passage of time and, as the name suggests, in imperfection.

Rustic-style decor
A rustic decor style is very common in mountain areas and small towns… but it’s becoming increasingly common to see it in new homes in all kinds of areas.
The key feature of this decor style is the use of “lots of wood.” Wood is the star material in this decorating style, and it shouldn’t be limited to just furniture—it should also be used on walls, ceilings, and beams. In addition to wood, stone is also used extensively. Stone provides protection from the cold and heat, depending on the season.
Contrary to what many people think, having a rustic decor doesn’t mean it’s old-fashioned. Rustic can also (and should) be modern. Using colors like white or fall hues will bring warmth and light to the rooms in your home, and you can pair them with fabrics and textiles like cotton or even antique furniture, which will add a lot of warmth to your space.
