- Jorge Rodrigo Dominguez, the Regional Minister of Housing, Transportation, and Infrastructure for the Community of Madrid, visited the Plan Vive housing units in Alcorcón, which are nearing completion.
- Also in attendance was María José Piccio Marchetti Prado, Director General of Housing and Rehabilitation, who provided an explanation of the general “Plan Vive” project and the specific plan for Alcorcón.

Today, the Community of Madrid completed construction in Alcorcón on 274 affordable rental units under the Plan Vive program. To mark the occasion, a guided tour was held at one of the housing developments located on Klimanjaro Street, at the corner of 8 de Marzo Street, lot 27, where the model apartment was located and where keys are scheduled to be handed over next March.
Among those attending the event, in addition to the Regional Minister of Housing, Transportation, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid and the Director General of Housing and Rehabilitation, were Candela Testa, mayor of Alcorcón, and Miguel Ángel González, first deputy mayor and councilmember for urban agenda, planning, development, and maintenance for the Alcorcón City Council.
Representing Culmia, the developer, were Francisco Pérez, CEO; Jaume Borràs Barber, Business Director; and Andrés Rituerto, Project Manager in charge of the Plan Vive, who, together with the Director General of Housing, presented the work carried out by the company on the development. Also among this group of dignitaries were Antonio Martín, José Ignacio Esteban, and Francisco Nisa, representing the construction company (Grupo Avintia); and Javier García del Río and Susana Navia, representing the real estate marketing firm Sogeviso.
Based on the characteristics of the homes, these Plan Vive developments consist of two housing complexes with 140 and 134 apartments, respectively. They have 1 to 3 bedrooms and include a garage and storage unit. Furthermore, the rent is 40% below market rates, and the industrialized construction model has made it possible to shorten construction timelines while also providing households with greater energy efficiency.
Keep in mind that to be eligible for these Plan Vive homes, you must meet a series of requirements, including using the home as your primary residence and not owning any other property in your name anywhere in Spain. Likewise, preference will be given to individuals who, as Spanish citizens or legal residents, are registered as residents of Alcorcón or have been employed there for at least three years.
One of the key aspects of this project centers on the spending limit, which is why a specific price is set; the idea is that no more than 35% of the household’s total annual net income can be allocated to paying the total annual rent.
