April 21, 2022 – Culmia, one of Spain’s leading real estate developers, hosted “Business Day,” organized in collaboration with the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Real Estate Planning and Management. The goal of the event is for students in the bachelor’s program—who are members of the UPM, the Madrid Association of Real Estate Developers (Asprima), and the Spanish Association of Real Estate Developers and Builders (APCEspaña) to meet and interact with executives from the leading companies in the real estate sector. This event is also held at other leading companies in the sector, such as Vía Célere, Pryconsa, Aedas Homes, Acerta, Gesvalt, Tinsa, Colliers, and many others.
Business Day in the Real Estate Degree Program: Culmia Day
The event was created with the goal of giving students a firsthand look at what a real estate company is like, while also aiming to bridge the gap that often exists between education and daily business practice, helping students better understand the needs of professionals in their respective fields, while also providing companies with access to the talent of these future real estate professionals, whose skills and knowledge are well-suited for professional practice.
On this occasion, 24 students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Planning and Management visited Culmia’s headquarters in Madrid, where they participated in a meeting with representatives of the Executive Committee, who addressed their questions and helped them gain a better understanding of what Culmia is all about.
Afterward, the students had the opportunity to learn about the day-to-day operations of a leading company while mingling with other Culmia professionals at a cocktail reception.
The day continued later at Casa Decor, the platform for interior design, design, trends, and lifestyle in which Culmia is participating—making it the first real estate developer to do so in the exhibition’s 30-year history. At Casa Decor, the students were able to visit the “VitaminaHomeCulmia” space, a space created by the developer and the interior design studio VG Living that recreates a dreamlike home, providing balance and helping its residents unwind in the warmth of home.
Culmia already collaborates with the Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Planning and Management on other activities. It is currently providing hands-on training to one of its students, who is already participating in an internship at the developer’s Central Regional Office. In the words of Jaime Jordana, Director of People and Organization at Culmia, “these types of initiatives allow us to expose young talent to a real professional environment. Collaborating with educational institutions is key to developing and complementing skills that go beyond the scope of classroom instruction.”
According to Víctor Sardá, Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Planning and Management at the UPM, “Unemployment should not be viewed with pity, but rather as an opportunity to fight for what we consider fair. Today we can say that we have found our purpose in life: to support young people in their search for a meaningful and fulfilling professional future. However, none of this would be possible without the commitment and partnership of companies like Culmia, where our graduates will build their professional careers.”
