Culmia, a real estate platform that brings together all housing solutions on the market, has been recognized by the Spanish Association of Integrated Project Management (AEDIP) in the category of “Most Outstanding Project of 2023” for its work on Lot III of the Plan VIVE I.
The members of AEDIP—an industry association comprising 20 consulting and engineering firms committed to promoting integrated project management (Project & Construction Management)—have recognized the VIVE Plan, spearheaded by Culmia, for its courage to innovate and its confidence in project management services. They also recognized the plan for its significant contribution to the industrialization of the sector and for its social and economic impact.
The award was presented at a ceremony held as part of AEDIP’s annual event, which took place yesterday in Madrid at the Espacio Zénit. The event was attended by members and numerous industry leaders. Representing Culmia, Andrés Rituerto, Project Manager for the Plan VIVE, was present to accept the award on behalf of the company.
The event focused on recognizing success stories in project management and the work of some of the sector’s most influential members.
Andrés Rituerto, Project Manager for Culmia’s Plan VIVE, emphasizes that “this project means a great deal to our company. It marks the beginning of our foray into affordable housing; it has become a success story in public-private partnership and lays the groundwork, provides valuable lessons, and outlines the steps to follow for future affordable housing projects. We are very proud and grateful that AEDIP’s members have recognized this project, which has a profound social impact and which we wanted to incorporate innovative aspects such as industrialization, leveraging technology to save time and reduce costs. This award encourages us to continue working in this area so that we can keep being part of the solution to the challenge of housing access in Spain.”
The VIVE Plan is a project promoted by the Community of Madrid under an administrative concession model that provides for the construction of affordable rental housing. Culmia was awarded Lot III of its first phase and the single lot of the second phase. Lot III consists of 12 plots and 1,763 housing units and includes land in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Tres Cantos, Alcorcón, Alcalá de Henares, and Getafe. All of these projects are currently under construction, and some are already on the market. The first families are expected to move into their homes next March.
The project is being carried out in partnership with the industrialized construction firm Ávita, and Sogeviso will be responsible for the subsequent management of the completed housing complex. Its main distinguishing feature is that the homes are being developed using industrialized construction methods, which not only shortens the construction period but also ensures that sustainability is incorporated into every home. At the same time, all homes will have an A energy rating and a BREEAM sustainability certification of “Very Good” or “Excellent.”
