Representatives from the Community of Madrid and the Pinto City Council recently visited the Culmia housing development in Pinto, which was built as part of the Plan Vive II. This project, now completed, represents another step forward in promoting affordable, high-quality housing in the Community of Madrid.
During the official visit, Jorge Rodrigo Domínguez, the Community of Madrid’s Regional Minister of Housing, Transportation, and Infrastructure, toured the model apartment of this development, located on Isaac Albéniz Street in the municipality, and was able to see firsthand the final result of a residential project that will allow future tenants to access affordable rental housing without sacrificing their living environment. The units are expected to be available to new residents starting next April, and the application period will open on March 3.
The development consists of a total of 422 homes with 1 to 3 bedrooms, including 221 one-bedroom homes, 173 two-bedroom homes, and 28 three-bedroom homes. All units come with a garage and storage room and are part of a residential community designed with functionality, quality, and sustainability in mind, fully integrated into the urban fabric of Pinto. The complex also features comprehensive common areas designed to enhance quality of life and foster a sense of community, including a community pool, a gym, a coworking space, a multipurpose sports court, a playground, and a community room.
The visit was also attended by María José Piccio-Marchetti, Director General of Housing and Rehabilitation for the Community of Madrid, and Salomón Aguado Manzanares, mayor of Pinto. During the tour, attendees were able to see for themselves the quality of the finishes, the layout of the units, and the design of the common areas, as well as how the project aligns with the objectives of Plan Vive II, an initiative that is generating high demand among residents interested in accessing affordable rental housing.
This development marks the first project under the Plan Vive initiative in the municipality of Pinto and is part of Plan Vive II, through which Culmia has secured a single lot of 1,137 homes distributed among Boadilla del Monte, Pinto, and Colmenar Viejo. At the regional level, the Government of the Community of Madrid continues to expand the supply of affordable rental housing, with more than 5,175 homes already delivered in nine municipalities and nearly 3,200 new homes under the Plan Vive scheduled for completion throughout 2026.
As part of this initiative, the Vive Plan also calls for the construction of 14,000 new homes in some 20 towns during the current legislative term, of which 5,500 will be reserved exclusively for people under 35, thereby improving access to housing for young people and families.
Through projects such as the one in Pinto, Culmia reinforces its commitment to developing sustainable, accessible, and people-centered residential solutions, actively collaborating with public authorities to address one of today’s major social challenges and contribute to the creation of more balanced and cohesive cities.
