May 24, 2021.– Culmia, one of Spain’s leading real estate developers, has acquired a plot of approximately 120,000 m² in the Solana de Valdebebas urban development in Madrid, where it plans to invest 92.7 million euros in the launch of one of its upcoming residential projects. With an urban planning approach that prioritizes environmental and sustainability criteria, La Solana de Valdebebas will connect La Moraleja, the airport city, and Valdebebas Park itself.
Overall, Solana de Valdebebas consists of 1,096,164 m² of land on which a total of 1,393 housing units will be built: 756 on the open market and 637 affordable housing units. It is situated in a highly desirable location, north of the city of Madrid and bordering the municipality of Alcobendas. This is an eco-urbanism project that seeks maximum energy efficiency with minimal environmental impact, integrating the layout and design of the buildings with natural spaces. Reforestation of the area, along with the orientation of the buildings to capture wind and controlled sunlight, will be key to reducing energy consumption. Plans also call for preserving the water system through drainage and generating energy via solar collection.
Currently, Culmia has 6 developments in the Community of Madrid, comprising 450 homes currently on the market, and a portfolio of 2,200 additional homes.
According to Javier del Castillo, Culmia’s Regional Director for Central and Northern Spain, “with this project, the company exemplifies its commitment to land management in strategic, high-demand areas through a project that stands out for its sustainability and its commitment to integrating natural spaces into urban planning.”
Since 2013, the company has delivered more than 5,000 homes throughout Spain, and has a sales portfolio of 80 developments and 4,000 homes, as well as land to develop 11,000 more homes.
