- This investment involves the development of 222 multifamily and single-family homes on 23,000 square meters of buildable area, in addition to the 16 lots the developer already owned.
- Through this project, Culmia is committing to an investment of more than 270 million to build a total of 748 homes spread across 24 lots, covering 82,000 square meters of buildable area.

January 13, 2025 — Culmia, the real estate platform that integrates housing solutions in the market, is investing 73 million euros in the purchase of new land for the Retamar de la Huerta urban development located in Alcorcón (Madrid). The developer is acquiring eight lots representing 23,000 square meters of buildable area and 222 multifamily and single-family homes. This amounts to 8.22% of the total urban development.
To date, Culmia had 16 lots in this development , totaling 59,000 square meters of buildable area for the construction of 526 homes.
Following this purchase, the developer now holds 29% of the sector, thereby becoming the largest landowner in this new development. This amounts to a total of 24 plots in Retamar de la Huerta for the development of 748 homes on 82,000 square meters of buildable area, representing an investment of more than 270 million euros.
Retamar de la Huerta is located in a prime area in the southwest of the Community of Madrid (north of the municipality of Alcorcón), surrounded by residential developments, universities, and other educational and healthcare facilities. The planning of the area has been based on three criteria:
- From an environmental perspective, it emphasizes the connection to the quality of the surrounding natural landscape and the creation of more than 30 hectares of new green spaces that link the development to its immediate surroundings through parkways and two riverside parks.
- The commitment to exclusively residential use strikes a balance between the quality of life provided by the human scale of the buildings and streets and the activities offered by the new facilities and services planned for the area.
- Sustainable mobility —with more than 7 km of planned bike lanes and 1.8 hectares of areas designated for pedestrian paths—goes hand in hand with excellent access to the M-50 and M-506, thanks to the new road connection projects that are set to be implemented.
The development will consist of more than 3,500 homes with a unique spatial design—a retreat near the capital that emphasizes its commitment to “green” living without sacrificing the comfort and amenities of urban life.
Culmia, which also serves as chair of the Compensation Board, is working with the City Council to secure final approval of the infrastructure project for this development in the first quarter of this fiscal year, with the goal of beginning infrastructure construction in the first half of 2025.
According to Celso Gómez, Culmia’s Central-North Regional Director, “the acquisition of these eight additional parcels is tangible proof of our firm commitment to this urban development project, which we consider key to the future of the Community of Madrid and which will serve as a strategic asset to attract investment in the years ahead.”
Since 2013, Culmia has delivered more than 7,400 homes in over 115 developments.
