April 2, 2024. –Culmia, Spain’s leading residential real estate project management platform, has signed an agreement with Citibox, the pioneering and leading technology platform for residential mailbox solutions for receiving and returning e-commerce packages, which will allow residents to conveniently receive and return their online purchases from their homes.

Through this partnership, Citibox smart residential mailboxes will be installed in the housing developments built by Culmia as part of the Community of Madrid’s Plan Vive, as well as in the City Council’s Affordable Housing Project. The agreement covers 24 housing developments, comprising a total of 3,771 units.

The developments that will offer this service are located in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Alcorcón, Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, Alcorcón, Tres Cantos, Boadilla del Monte, Pinto, and Colmenar Viejo, as well as in Madrid itself.

The first installations of these smart mailboxes took place this February at the housing developments in Alcorcón and Tres Cantos.

The introduction of this service will allow residents who shop online to receive and return packages from their homes without having to worry about the carrier’s delivery or pickup times.

In addition to the benefits offered by the service, its use by residents contributes positively to the transformation of cities, making them more sustainable environments. Because all deliveries are made on the first attempt, this results in fewer trips by delivery vans, leading to less traffic congestion and reducing CO2 emissions by 52% per package delivered during daytime deliveries and by 69% during nighttime deliveries.
