- The development, located in Almuñécar, consists of 54 two- and three-bedroom homes with terraces, a garage, and a storage room, as well as penthouses, ground-floor units with terraces, and townhouses
- The project continues Culmia’s development in the Velilla-Taramay area, strengthening its presence along the Andalusian coast
- It appeals to a predominantly international buyer base (70%), along with 30% domestic clients—mainly from Madrid—aged 50 to 60, who are looking for an established, quiet neighborhood with access to amenities and good transportation links

April 14, 2026 — Culmia, the real estate platform that brings together all the housing solutions on the market, has begun construction on the third and final phase of Culmia Costa Galera, its new residential development in Almuñécar, in one of the most prominent areas of Granada’s Costa Tropical, continuing the development the company is spearheading in this enclave near Velilla-Taramay, next to Calabajío Beach.
The development consists of 54 two- and three-bedroom homes, ranging in size from 87 m² to 153 m², all of which include a terrace, a parking space, and a storage unit. Notable among the different unit types are the penthouses, ground-floor units with spacious terraces, and townhouses. The residential complex will also feature a community pool, landscaped areas, and a sun deck, with delivery of the homes scheduled for 2028.
The architectural project was designed by HCP Arquitectos, a firm recognized for its track record and extensive experience in residential developments in southern Spain.
The development is located just a few meters from the beach, in an established residential area with easy access to services, restaurants, entertainment, health centers, schools, supermarkets, and sports facilities. In addition, it has excellent transportation links thanks to its connection to the A-7 via the N-340, providing easy access to other points of interest such as Nerja, Granada, Málaga, and the Sierra Nevada.
In this context, the start of construction on Culmia Costa Galera III is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence along the Andalusian coast, where it has spearheaded various residential developments in recent years, particularly on the Costa del Sol and the Costa Tropical. Culmia currently has several projects underway in locations such as Estepona, Mijas, and Istán, to which this project in Almuñécar is now added, thereby consolidating its position in southern Spain as one of its key markets.
With this new phase, Culmia continues to develop the Costa Galera project, where 107 homes have already been delivered in previous phases (44 in Phase I and 63 in Phase II).
In addition, Costa Galera III incorporates features designed to enhance the comfort of the homes. These include exterior window and door frames made of PVC with double glazing and an air cavity, a mechanical ventilation system, domestic hot water supplied by individual air-source heat pumps, and ducted HVAC.
In this regard, the development will be evaluated using Culmia’s own certification programs— JADE, for sustainability, and CUARZO, for health and well-being—which assess aspects such as the rational use of energy and water, indoor air quality, natural lighting, acoustic comfort, and the selection of materials.
The buyer profile for this development consists primarily of international clients from Europe (70%), while the remaining 30% are domestic clients, mainly from Madrid. In general, these are buyers between the ages of 50 and 60 who are looking for a well-established, quiet area near the sea, with access to amenities and good transportation links.
In the words of Andrés Rituerto, Culmia’s Regional Director for Central-North and South, “the start of construction on Culmia Costa Galera III marks a new step in our commitment to continuing to develop housing in established, high-demand areas in Andalusia. This development caters to a client profile seeking to combine location, surroundings, and functionality in an area with great residential appeal, such as the Costa Tropical.”
Since it began operations in 2013, Culmia has delivered more than 10,500 homes across 149 developments.
