We work with the ventilated facade as a constructive solution that allows to cover the exterior of the building envelope with ceramic, metallic, wood, etc. pieces, being its main function, the physical separation of the interior and exterior environment of the building. Ventilated facades provide buildings with thermal protection against atmospheric agents.

It is estimated that about 50% of a building’s energy consumption comes from the use of heating and air conditioning, due to insufficient insulation. At Culmia, we offer a solution to improve energy efficiency: Exterior Thermal Insulation Systems (ETICS), which allow high levels of insulation to be achieved and significantly reduce energy costs.

We work with high performance air conditioning systems that extract free energy from the outside air with inverter heat pumps. This system requires an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units, allowing to generate heating, cooling and domestic hot water in an efficient, sustainable and energy saving way in buildings.

We are committed to an air conditioning system that takes advantage of the thermal inertia of the subsoil, with stable temperatures between 10 and 16 °C depending on the latitude, to generate heating, cooling and domestic hot water (DHW). This is a renewable energy that, unlike others, does not depend mainly on solar radiation, but on the thermal difference between the earth’s interior and its surface, offering energy efficiency and sustainability in all types of buildings.

We apply automatic regulation of air intake and exhaust air flow rates according to relative humidity and human presence. This system guarantees continuous air renewal while maintaining a minimum ventilation flow rate. By adapting the ventilation levels to the real needs of each room, energy consumption is optimized, reducing the flow rates required by regulations and achieving significant savings without compromising the quality of the indoor environment.

It is a system that ensures air quality, through the extraction of stale air in humid rooms (kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, laundry rooms, …) and simultaneously ensures the insufflation of new filtered air in dry rooms (living room, dining room, bedrooms, …). In winter, the fresh air recovers the calories of the stale air that we extract from the house. In summer, the fresh air that enters the house is cooled by the stale air that we extract from the house.

The term nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) refers to Nearly Zero Energy Buildings. These buildings have very high energy efficiency and minimal consumption, which must come from renewable sources, generated on-site or in the immediate environment.
